Subject: Re: Switch To Synthetic For 86 Turbo?

It is generally not good to switch oils. It is generally best to continue to use the same oil as has been previously used in an older car. It can be particularly bad to switch from dino to synthetic. I've never done it but heard a lot of bad stories. Some oils will leave deposits of one kind, others will leave a different kind of deposit. If you switch oils, you risk disloging the deposits left by the other oils and you risk changing the characteristics of the seals. Charles.
