You *can* have the dealer install a European mirror with has convex glass. I don't see the need for it. Lots of European cars have it, it's not done in the US. Don't take the fact that a European mirror is available to indicate that there's an issue - You can buy European headlights too - no one is claiming that the US models are "defective". Some folks just like different toys. >Then there are all the problems that anyone who reads this news group >for long will know about -- instrument lights blacking out, Huh ? > a stereo system that requires you to go to the Saab dealer to have a CD >player installed, and so on and so on. If you want a CD player that integrates with the digital dash display, you have to buy one that integrates with the digital dash display. You can buy it from Crutchfield of another stereo supply, you do *not* have to buy it from Saab. For your car, the Clarion CDR635 is the preferred choice although there are a couple others that work. If you just want a CD player like those in any other car, you can buy a CD player and install it. Don't expect it to integrate with the SID display if it's not designed to do that. The same is true of *many* other cars. Nissan/Infiniti offer an optional CD player that can be controlled by the controls on the factory stereo system. *However*, there is a very short list of players that will do this and you have to do a lot of research to find a non-factory brand that will do it. There are one or two models (not brands, models) of CD's that work, AFAIK. >I've never heard of such problems on other cars. If it bother you that much, perhaps you should have made it a decision point for buying. >Yes, of course, every car has its design deficiencies. What you've listed are pet-peeves, not design problems. Bob
