Being a new car you do have that option to change the settings (factory) withing 30 days of delivery free of charge (at least it was with mine) and the setting need to changed by a device that dealer had , connects to diag output, takes few minutes and you be on your way . but what I found out on my 2001 9-3 , was when option for lights only is selected the alarm will not go off only lights flash. So test it and see ... bestof luck.
