Hi Jan, I own a SAAB 9-5 and had a similar problem to yours. The key and the fob together were rather large for the old pocket (like a bloomin banana) and the fob often got trapped under the handbrake (annoying). Don't know if you can do this with your 9-3 but you may be able to get your dealer to order one of the newer '3 in 1' keys (Doors, ignition/imobiliser and rear boot open). They then programme that key from your existing key/fob and hey presto no more bulging pockets. Only snag is that its costs about £40 for your dealer to do it. Good luck and cheers, Mick "Genevieve Brench" <Gennopsamch.fsnet.co.uk> wrote in message news:a4cc7t$kcl$1nopsam7.svr.pol.co.uk... > the key is chipped so that only that key will start the car > if you open it youll see > the plastic will have to stay im afraid > Bob <uctraingNOSPAMnopsamanet.com> wrote in message > news:85bj6u8k6dmg142p1sfhl6huma23re516onopsamcom... > > On 11 Feb 2002 19:22:02 -0800, minamherenopsamail.com (Chris) wrote: > > > > >I have a 99 Saab 9-3, i was wondering if there is something to prevent > > >me from removing the key from the plastic case that it is in?
