We bought a used 1990 900 s [non turbo] with 177,000 miles. I have had to replace the trans. the car ran great for one day. Then the car died and I replaced the fuel filter. It then ran rough and the injector connections were corroded so I cleaned them up. It then ran good for about one month. It gets lousy gas mileage [13 mpg ] and seems to be running rich...heavy carbon build up on exhaust and spark plugs...so I was going to replace the O2 sensor [on the advice of people in a forum which I described the gas problem to]. Before I could install the sensor the car stopped running again. I went ahead and replaced the sensor but still will not start. It turns over but only on occasion will it seem to "fire". I can smell the fuel and either does not start it. The spark plugs are firing. The last time it ran it was running rough, like when the injector connection was corroded, it corrected it self ran well for a while and then repeated this untill it was just chugging. Now it won't start. Any ideas as to what it could be? If you need more info just ask
