Hiya, I've copied below an e-mail conversation I've been having with a fellow Saaber. It's regarding the side mirror "joysticks". Upon investigation, it appears that these units have a housing for a bulb to illuminate these controls. Has this actually been done on some Saabs? Neither of my classic 900s have bulbs ... ----------- [PASTE] ---------- Hey, you're right :) I've never had to investigate these before so I pulled one off to take a look. Sure enough, there's a space for a bulb. I'm hoping to replace the dash on my turbo soon (I'm still finding a price I can swallow), so when it's off I'll have a crack a wiring these up - I reckon I can spur some power off the Seat Belts warning light and cook up some kind of housing for the bulb from Maplins (a UK electronics store). Since the joysticks are mostly obscured by the steering wheel, Saab probably didn't bother illuminating them. Mind you, they might be visible at night - I have found myself setting off the wipers before while trying adjust my mirrors at night. I'll copy this to alt.autos.saab to see if anyone else has tried this.
