Subject: Steering wheel makes noise and hangs up

My car: SAAB 900i 16V 1992 The last months the steering wheel has been making a squeeking noise now and then when I turn it. Today I had to apply some extra force to turn it while driving... I think it could be a metal thing sliding on metal, sometimes hitting a scratch (like the technical solution for the horn on my old SAAB 99, using a metal piece pushed to another metal piece by a spring, instead of normal wires). Any ideas how to fix this? Is taking the steering wheel apart something I should try myself? Thankful for any suggestions. Aage
