Before disclosing your idea, you should document it and get an inpartial witness, such as a notary public to stamp, date and sign it. That way in the event of a dispute, you can prove "prior art" showing the idea to be yours. Also try to get a non-disclosure agreement. I am not a patent attourney, and you may want to consult one first.
