Subject: Re: 9-5 Snow tires or not?
Hi - I write You from the West-Siberian area, to which our German
Berlin Zone changed these days. Look: Winter-tires always provide better
grip on low temperatures (below +10 deg.cels.)
I changed my 215/55/16 MICHELIN PILOT on my Ą98 (ahem) 9-5 against 4 (!!
always a complete set !!) VREDESTEIN SNOWTRAC 195/65/15 on steel-rims.
The cost was 391 Euro (is Dollars) for the complete work.
IĄm very satisfied with their performance. The run is much easyer and
smoother on low speed. Above 100 km/h (55 mls) it begins to hum a little
more than the MICHELINs do. The grip on wet and cold roads is sufficient
and much better than with the summer - tires. You notice it esp. on hard
brakings. I donĄt know how hard You let it rock, but for my style the
195 - dimension is comfortable and safe. The look is a bit - donĄt ask
me..
By bye - drive safe on winter-tires
Wolfgang
