I take it she's okay? I hope so. Yeah, she is fine, in actual fact, she isn't putting in a compen claim for this one, it seems the impact may have put right some of the damage caused by the rear ending 3 months earlier. > Shame. The snow is > still with us and we're expecting more before the weekend it out - wheeee, > more Saabing in the snow :) All you have to do it take it easy, enjoy the ride, and not get to brave and it is fun :) I only passed my test in Oct 2001, and then late Dec2001/Jan2002 my first winter of driving, I got to drive in ice and snow, worried me at first, but thoroughly enjoyed it. I was lucky that I had recently fitted a set of brand new tyres, so at least I had the benefit of decent treads to work with. Wish we had some snow because I would get a real feel of how it drives in bad conditions. I know on wet roundabouts, either in first entering from a standstill (big wheelspin) or in second powering off it (huge but controllable understeer) things get entertaining, I just had to learn to let the car drift a little and steer into it, and it has so far always hooked up and corrected itself. Shocks are brandnew but the old ones did it too, tyres are all cheap and a real mix and match, but they are all similar pattern, and fair to good condition. if I hang onto the car long enough to need new tyres, will probably go for a know brand, and take the size up to 185/60x13 instead of the 165/70x13 standard or as is currently fitted to the front 17/70x13. Should help on the grip a little, and maybe reduce some of the flex in steering. -- Carl Robson http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
