For the while that I had Orca on the road, the sports exhaust probably did nothing until I fitted a free-flow air filter - one of the drop in replacement K&N types, rather than the cone type which I was advised to avoid on the 8V model. A cone type may be more applicable to Carl, who will have the electronically controlled FI system. Given a good air intake and exhaust, my other problem an over-tweaked wastegate leading to dangerous overboosting. With the base boost set correctly, the turbo-mule was tamed. A more smooth overall boost was achieved an the sharp spool-up with occasional overboost was eradicated. I'd like to get back a bit of the more extreme power and I think the RRFPR is a good addition to a car with good intake and exhaust. I'll be coupling this with an improved wastegate and an atmospheric dump valve (for the noise, grin). With the stage set, I'll enjoy that for a while and perhaps when I'm feeling flush, go for a red-box APC - so long as I'm sure the engine gaskets and piping & grommets are all good and perhaps replaced. I'll take any enhancements slow and steady. Mind you, I've not driven Orca properly for a while, but she did run great when I took it over to the garage. The advice to Carl is good - sort of the little niggles, like the vac leak, before turning it into a real Behemoth :) Paul 1985 900i 16V 1989 900 Turbo S http://pjgh.go.dyndns.org/saab/index.html
