That's your next high priority fix. You sure it's the CV? Sometimes > brake disks can make a similar noise. Brakes do stick first thing, but loosen off with a couple of stamps. Only when I'm on full lock at low speeds do I notice a problem. There is a grumbling noise, when on extreme left lock it feels like the left hand wheel is try to rip itself off, and jump the car outwards of the turn, when on right lock it grumbles on te same side, buit not as bad. > > and the turbo > > works, but I think the seals may be gradually on the way out (either > > that or there is a hell of a lot of condensation in the exhaust). > > What colour is the smoke? The smoke is white, thin wispy, on a good run it clears when warm, but from idle to about 2k revs, if the thottle is dropped off, I get a small cloud. not a big headgasket mess of smoke, and no oil or water loss. I'm pretty close to needing an oil change, going to give it a good service before the MOT, after I get the boost situation sorted with a new dumpvalve, and fixing the vacuum leak. -- Carl Robson The poster formally known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
