Although there are plenty of four-door hatchbacks available in Europe (Renault, Opel etc) there are none in the more upmarket segment. BMW, Mercedes etc make only saloons or estates. I suppose Saab wanted to try to emulate them. A great shame, for the appeal for me of Saab is there slight idiosyncracy and practicality. I won't be getting one if they don't make a hatchback. I'll have to wait for the Audi A4 four door hatchback to arrive.
