Hi, I'm not sure what the year break was, possibly 1995, the cruise control unit on later models comprises of three basic units. 1 The stalk (left) connect the extra connector that is near the stalk. 2 A cruise control module which fits between the battery holder and the bulkhead, this is secured by three bolts which are mounted through the battery holder and set in rubber bushes. There should then be a connector very close to the battery holder which has a plastic dust cover which is to be removed and plugged into the module. Then thread the control cable through and onto the throttle. 3 You need to remove the lower panel of the drivers side dash (felt bit) this is done by pushing a small screwdriver into the middle of the stud, the centre will then disappear never to be seen again. (Get some spares Part No 42 59 248 Expanding rivet, double check PN) The switches on the clutch and brake pedals are normally fitted on the later models although you do need a 'Y' shaped mini loom that connects between the two pedal switches and a connector that is usually tucked away under the dash. It maybe necessary to bend the plates on the pedal to ensure that the switch is pushed home when the pedal is released, this is the safety part of the system When all units are connected on this version and the ignition and cruise switch are on there will be a light on the dash (Orange) that displays cruise. This kit can normally be bought from a reputable SAAB specialist or if you can find one a breaker, make sure you get all the bits. Regards Michael
