I recently had the Tonneau motor replaced on my '95. I was told a new motor would run $1,400 from Saab. Although my warranty service wouldn't cover this they did give me a couple of contacts. I was able to locate a rebuilt with a 6 month warranty for $850. It has been installed and is working great. I had also found a used one for $700 but no warranty. The used motor is at Dennis Sweeny Saab at 1-800-270-7222 The rebuilt came from "The Parts Dept" at 1-800-454-2280, ask for Ira. Another possible source is Import Auto Recycling at 1-800-888-3101 Josh at ext. 14 While trying to calibrate my service dept said the control unit was bad and cost me another $629 to replace. Labor on the motor is questionable. One source told me .75 of an hour, one told me 5 hrs. My service dept ended up charging me around $600 with most of that time put into calibrating the motor. At the time, this shop had already repaired 8 Saab convertible top motors in the past month.
