It's a problem affecting many, many higher performance cars with similar direct ignition systems. No other issues I know of for a '99 except that the upper idler pulley needs replacement every 45-50K miles. About $35 USd in parts and a half hour of work at most. A new serpentine belt is another $35 if you do that too. You can reduce turbo lag if you like to get into tweaking your car a bit. You also learn a bit about getting a turbo to move quickly the more you drive it. Bob
