I posted here last week about a strange intermittent power failure to the dashboard console that also usually cut out the engine. I took the car to a SAAB dealer today and they said the fault was in the ignition switch. I will now wait on tenterhooks to see if the problem is fixed. Thanks to everyone with their advice Pete
