There's a good defintion on Wikipedia, including its original meaning
which was more than a mild expletive. Bugger (the word, not necessarily
the original verb!) is very common in Oz and appears in advertising eg
"Toyota's Big Bugger of a Sale" was all over the billboards last time I
was there.
