The base price of $29,995 also includes such customer convenience features as a cooled (45 degrees) glove box, six powerful windshield wiper nozzles, an in-dash CD player and cassette audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, four cupholders, double divided sunvisors, and much more.

Because of its lengthy standard equipment list, options for the Saab 9-5 base car are limited to a four-speed automatic transmission ($1,110), a power glass sunroof ($1,110), an integrated rear child seat ($270; delayed availability), and a front and rear heated seat package ($500).
