QUOTE: "The expensive to fix part puzzles me because they should all still be under warranty."
I agree that this should be true.
However(!), when I dropped off my '01 9-3 at the dealership this morning to get a few (electrical) things fixed "while under warranty", I was quite surprised to be told that I may get charged for labor (of diagnosting), if it turns out to be something that's not covered under warranty. Furthermore, the tricky part is that they can't tell me up-front as to if it's covered under warranty or not unless diagnosted. (Shouldn't they know what's covered & whats' not?)
So, at the end of today, I may walk out with my car with $0 out of my wallet as "under warranty", or $$$ for just getting it looked at only to find that it's not something that's under warranty (& even more $$$ to get it fixed then, should I choose to).
This is totally new to me. With other dealerships (ie. Subaru and Geo/Chevy, etc), it's never been like that in my experience.
I'll post another to report back later again, after I get my car back...
