Is your car an appliance to get you to work, or do you fundamentally enjoy the process of driving?
My wife is the former, so she proudly drives her Toyota and raves about mileage and lack of repairs. I'm the latter and that's why I drive Saabs. The combination of performance and design is something you're not likely to see in a Japanese car. Saabs are so much fun to drive, but that does come with the cost of more expensive and more frequent maintainance. You have to take care of these cars, missing/delaying oil changes or ignoring repairs is simply not an option.
Others will be able to speak to the merits of the Sport Sedan better than I can, I have an older 9-3, but in the end it's your car. Choose what you want, and if that leads you to a Saab so be it. All the people shouting Honda at you don't have to drive the car. Good luck with your purchase, you've already found on the best resources you'll ever need if you buy the Saab.
