Once upon a time going with a unique car could be real liability comapred to some generic domestic or oriental car. Not so anymore. A Saab has above average reliability, average resale, but is unparalleled in uniqueness, engineering and safety.
Nowadays a Saab is a solid choice from a reliability and service standpoint. The Saab has the balance of the the free 3/36 maintenance or for you the 15kish and 30k major service free. The Saab has 37k miles of warranty, a new Honda only 36k. Perhaps your used Saab is from a Saab dealer and is Certified Pre Owned with a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty included?
As far as safety, the latest "Double Best Pick Awards" and Seat/head Restraint ratings form the IIHS put the Saab far ahead of the Honda.
You know the Saab is a better car or you wouldn't be here on these BB's
It's safe to go for it.
