I picked up my car last night after being out of town for a funeral. Pulled up to the car in the loaner rental and saw a line of 9-3's. Mine was the one with the screwdriver on the hood resting in the seam between the front fender and the hood. It was a pick type screwdriver with a sharp point at the end.
I went to unlock the car with the remote and didn't hear the door locks unlock since the car was already unlocked. Interesting, car unlocked and screwdriver on hood!
Thought, geez I'm lucky I picked it up tonight and not tomorrow AM like I told them since I didn't expect to make it back into the state in time to pick up the car. My XM radio was still in its cradle. No harm, no foul.
However, this afternoon when I was leaving work I found another screwdriver (Craftsman hex head with a torx bit in it) in the passenger's foot well. The right size to take the kick panel off where the FM modulator and wires are run for XM. Funny thing is they had no reason to have a torx screwdriver in the car or anything on the hood of the car as they weren't working anywhere near the front end of my car.
The service writer and I had words since they have demonstrated shoddy workmanship and I've called them on it the last few times I've been in there. I've had to take the car back 4 times for one of the issues to get it right. I actually laughed at the guy he was getting so po'd at talking to me because he was basically calling me a liar and I kept on telling him the car wasn't like that when I took it in to get service on it the last time. My last words were that I'd take the car to a body shop to have one of the problems they created fixed properly.
Now, I'm thinking that the lot person was lining my car up so somebody could come back at night and steal my XM radio out of the car. I know I'm not crazy because my wife was with me and saw the same things I saw.
Thoughts?
Opinions?
I'm done with this dealer since they have absolutely zero interest in standing behind their work or satisfying the customer. Now all of these tools "left behind" and the car left unlocked on their lot.
