Stick dipping thing... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: About every 15k....., Jenna, Tue, 8 Mar 2005 18:01:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A couple of paper towels, the dip stick top is bright yellow and very close to the front and it's pretty easy to see the oil on the stick, unlike previous 9-3s and 9-5s with their black combination dipstick oil fill.
Or you could gas up at full service every now and then for the express purpose of checking the oil, but I haven't seen a full service station in awhile. Or I'm sure the local Saab service department would check it for you while you wait if it's not too much trouble to navigate to the service writer. While your under the hood look at the white plastic bottle with the orange coolant in it towards the base of the windshield sorta' over on the right. Oil, air and water at least every 3k and your all set to go 15k between oil changes.
Do you have a tire guage? Your tires will last longer if you keep an eye on the pressures. I'd check the tires at least as often or more than the oil. Don't trust the tire pressures listed on the door jamb. They're often too high and reflect the maximum pressures for full load and high speed. Consult the owners manual or Quick Reference Guide for the correct pressures for normal loads and normal speeds for your 17" tires.
