Hi all,

I just saw this message and I just had to repley. I just traded-in my 2004 Saab Arc Convertible two days ago. Ok here is why.... My Saab was in the dealers shop more times in the last year than my 10 year old Ford Explorer has been in the shop in the last 10 years.

Me and my wife just loved the 2004 Saab convertible but I just can't keep taking it into the shop two or three times a month. We did not have just one problem but many. When I traded it in we still had two or three problems that the dealer and Saab had no idea what they were.

Here is a listing of some of the problems:

1. A/C compressor replaced.
2. Belt tensioner replaced.
3. Rear calipers and brake pads replaced.
4. Windows rattle.
5. Clunking sound from chassis when going down the road. Replaced rear shocks but did not fix the problem.
6. A/C system shuts off occationally but is very intermitant. Still has not been fixed.
7. Seat belt bracket replaced 4 times on the rear seats.
8. Up/Down stereo button on steering wheel replace 3 times.
9. Replaced the key/remote two times.
10. Top gets stuck when going up/down.

There are more problems but I think everybody get's the point. I talked to the tech at the shop and he says that he has seen alot of problems with the 2004 Saab's convertibles.

So, in all I think I tend to agree with the consumer reports rating. My opionin is that Saabs quality might have improved but Saab is still far behind the industry. And it is not light I am comparing them to Japanese cars, I have a Ford Explorer and Ford Pickup truck that I am comparing them agaist.

Good Luck everybody.....
