I have a 2004 steel grey Arc 'vert and also love it. It's coming up on a year and has about 11,500 miles. I have decided to trust the oil monitor and wait for the 15,000 service. (My SID says I can wait even longer.) The car drives wonderfully, looks good, and is incredibly comfortable. It is also very rare, even here in Los Angeles after a year of being available.
My only minor annoyance is occasional electronic gremlins. After the key transponders were replaced, the most common problem (getting locked out) was solved. However, I have had about four experiences of total top failure, where the top was up and nothing would activate it to go down. (Yes, NOTHING was in trunk.) The only solution seems to be to let the car sit, locked, for about a couple of hours or evernight, and then the problem magically disappears.
The only other gremlins are (1) the automatic climate control doesn't do exactly what it is supposed to do when the top goes down, and service folks can't figure out why it "doesn't hold its settings"; and (2) after mile 11,000, the pinch protection on the driver's side has started acting up. Tried the manual reset but it is only a temporary solution; problem returns next time windows are activated.
