Let's face it HP sells a lot of cars...They even have a V-8 option on the Audi A4 (S4) whick is a direct competitor to the 93. I know about the engineering concens of too much power going thru the a FWD but many cars simply have gone to AWD and solved this--but thats a story for another day... The limitations of FWD will need to be addressed by SAAB if they really want to play w/ the big boys as fas as performance is concerned.
I'm talking about how SAAB can increase sales...I actually like the 4 cyl. motor. Its obvious that over the past decade performance sells. Even the new Hyudai Sonata V6 does about a 7 second 0-60...It costs about $23,000. Let people have the V6 option on all SAABs!
As for the AERO owners who dont have isssues w/ ground clearance and the dam scraping--more power to you. :)
BTW my car is an ARC w/ the full package of AERO bodywork so its a little taller than a "real" AERO.
I have to say its hard remembering when I get into my 2003 SAAB after driving my SUV that I have to watch out for parking space end caps and really SLOW down when transitioning from a parking lot to the streets (or Street to street) since I live in an area w/ a lot of steep hills. My 1999 SAAB has more clearance so I never had to think about this.
I really like SAABs so I hope they get it as far as marketing goes...Lets face it when you can sell a Suburu and a Chevy SUV rebadged as a SAAB the world has changed.
I hope SAAB can draw upon their legacy its a great quirky story of really good cars.
