European delivery may be less cheap in 2006???

In 2005, European delivery was 9% off MSRP plus they did not charge for shipping ($720 for cars bought at US dealers/non-European delivery). Now the GM press reports mention the value pricing scheme and their total price seems to include shipping in the total MSRP.

Therefore, it is possible that it could be only 9% and not 9%+$720. This would make European delivery less attractive from a financial standpoint. The emotional attachment of a souvenir would remain, however. Before, the European delivery program was good for people who either couldn't stand negotiating, were poor to moderate negotiators, or had stubborn dealers who refused to discount the price of their cars.

Only time will tell what the real story will be, i.e. European delivery pricing.
