Call Mike Lynch if you can't get local satisfaction, he'll send in the paperwork. Hint - take delivery from a dealer other than the one you will be using for local service if you don't order the car through them. No sense rubbing their nose in it.
I have been in touch with SaabUSA's IDS representative, and the program is in place and ready to go. The required documents are on the SaabUSA Dealer site in PDF format ready to be printed out, filled in, and faxed back. The current program is 9% off, no charge for transportation (saves $720), no charge for dealer prep, $500 loyalty bonus, $2000 "walking around money" sent to you by check a couple or three weeks before your scheduled pickup, and a night's lodging in Trollhattan if you select Trollhattan as the delivery site. You pay extra to pick up the car anywhere else in Europe, and you pay extra to drop it off anywhere except Gothenburg. There is a $90 fee for a Swedish Export Plate, and they can arrange insurance for you. Many USA insurance companies won't write for Europe, so you may be stuck with Saab's policy - $206 for 15 days (minimum), with a range of options available to you for longer trips.
Warranty coverage is based on where the car is at the time - 2 years unlimited mileage in Europe, 4 years 50,000 miles in the USA and Canada.
IDS cars are not eligible for SaabUSA "dealer incentives", such as the long running $5000 or so discount that 9-5s have been carrying, but as GM moves to lower their list prices and subsequently lower their incentives, IDS looks better and better.
