It sounds strange to begin with that the rear brakes are already worn out more so the rotors?
Have them show you the brake pads on your car and compare to a new set of pads.
I wouldn't be too surprised if it was the front ones.
The dealer never machine rotors but instead suggest to replace them.
It is two schools out there, shops that machine rotors and shops that don't.
I see no reason to throw away brake rotors that are still above minimum thickness after a machine job.
Also, the down and dirty of it could be that, if they can sell you new rotors and labor to replace rotors they make more money than if they just had replaced the pads under warranty.
