After removing so many rotors through the years and putting them up in a lathe to discover that almost 100% of them are warped more or less or have a slight bowed or wavy surface I see it in my own interest to try to make it as perfect as possible without going overboard and spend a lot of customer money in putting new rotors on every time.

Installing a new rotors are no guarantee of them not getting warped. Brake rotors goes through so many heat/cold cycles it's not even funny.
It comes down a lot to the cast iron structure of that particular batch that the rotor was made from and also the brake pad combination and if a person live on a hill and using the brakes heavily going down hill.

Yes, rear brakes have a lot less strange wear patterns compared to front, but rear rotors/pads are also the ones more prone to squeek, and by straightening out rotors and giving the pads a new surface to wear into minimize the problems.

By removing the rotors and cleaning up the rusted surface of the hub and inside of rotor you also minimize the problems.

Many people when just throwing in a new set of pads on don't realize that when removing the wheel, the rotor loosen up from the hub a little and rust flakes can easily be moved around and get lodged between the hub and rotor creating an even more warped rotor when the wheel is bolted back on.

All these things takes time and that is one reason why some shops can't compete with Midas and alike with super low priced brake jobs.
