My 2003 9-3SS just rolled through 48,000 miles and I haven't had one problem yet. <knock, knock>
No knocks, no shakes, no creaks, just plenty of power, 33mpg and it's been tons of fun.
The only dealer trips have been for routine maintenance and twice an error code due to what I believe was a loose gas cap. The door handles are slightly faded (fixed on newer models) and the dash rubber wore off on one of the radio buttons. I brought the car to the dealer and they replaced the entire unit for no cost.
Love everything about the car. The only thing missing is an all wheel drive 9-3.
Best of luck on your decision,
JD
