My wife and I are planning to buy a 9-3SC soon. Even though I qualify for GM discount, I spotted an anomoly in Saab's pricing structure that caused me to strongly consider the European Delivery Program, (historically the employee price has been much lower than the Euro Delivery price). Below is a table of what I discovered after talking to three Dealerships before finding one who has done Euro Delivery, and Saab USA's Dealer Assistance number. I hope the manually generated columns will not cause too much confusion:

So why doesn't everyone buy their cars through the European Delivery Program? There are some constraints. A non-refundable deposit at time of ordering. The car must be ordered 6 to 8 weeks prior to desired delivery date in Europe. Payment is due in full 30 days prior to european delivery date. It will require an additional 3 to 4 weeks for the car to arrive in the US from europe after dropping it off. Rebates could change significantly between order and receipt negating any savings. In effect you pay in full 60 days prior to having possession in the US.

Other benefits are that Sales Tax is not due until US possesion, that you can play pick-up/drop-off locations against air fare rates for a possible lower total cost, and that you get airfare (and some lodging costs) paid for if you are considering a European vacation!.

Options are priced at 95% of MSRP, so the more options the greater the savings. This is reversed when comparing to Employee Discount, the more options on a Euro Delivery vehicle reduces the total savings for those eligible for GM discount.

I am assuming that European Delivery customers still pay Dealer Prep fees to their Stateside dealers. This is still not 100% clear to me.

Just thought I would share what I discovered, hopefully this will help someone.
