You hear the bad news about GM almost daily, but last week's Wall St. Journal had an op ed where the author gave 3 quick fixes for GM to turn itself around. One of those fixes was to get rid of Saab any way possible. The author felt that the brand is hopeless and is a loser for GM no matter how much money GM puts into it.

What happens to the CPO warranties if GM does go bankrupt and sell off Saab? If you own a car that has say 3 years left of CPO warranty, can the new post-bankruptcy GM just void its previous obligations, if it keeps Saab?

If GM sells Saab, does the new owner have to honor the CPO warranties?
