Consum.Reports says safety is important, ignores itself

Consumer Reports often says how important safety is. I agree. If your car is not too safe, you could be unwittingly asking for death.
So when a less safe car gets a high rating, I think "does Consumer Reports want to kill me? ;)
I think the Acura has poor rear crash ratings, maybe because the seat collapses under rear impact. I was thinking of buying an Acura TSX but I decided that I didn't want to buy a car with poor crash test rating, especially since I liked the way the Saab drove (and the 9-3 tested well).
This is not to say Saab should rest easy on its good crash test ratings. 2005 and 2006 appear to be much more reliable than the 2003 launch package equipped cars.
Like the previous poster said, C.R. heavily favors Japanese cars. On the other hand, Car and Driver heavily favors BMW. They even rated it #1 when the test car, a 2006 3 series, broke down during testing. I forgot what it was but maybe the brakes became unusable or something else bad.
