facts: When you make an IDS Purchase, you are buying the car as an expatriate. It is illegal for Saab to sell cars directly to customers in the USA. But if you are outside the USA, then that law doesn't apply. And if you are a traveller, then whatever laws of commerce in the foreign country of your choice do not apply to you either. But you have to be there to sign the papers. You can't just send and IDS order and then ask them to ship it to you (can you???!!!)
Opinion: The 2.0T Premium Package is not a very wise choice. Buy that, and you are just $3000 away from the Aero (using IDS CV prices). Subtract the value of the remedial driving school .. aka Aero Academy ... and you are paying just $1650 for the extra power, sports suspension, wheel/tire package, an extra cog in the gearbox, and the nicer interior trim. I'd pay $1650 if I could get all of the above w/o the driver training and the premium package goodies.
(I am receiving my 2.0T, parchment silver on parchment, *no premium package*, on June 12 in Trollhattan. And I have one open "guest invitation" at the Ronnum Manor that evening for dinner. Any takers?)
