Wanted to report on the 9-3 SS cruising at speed.

Phoenix - Indio, CA (near Palm Springs)... 250 mi. Made it in about 3 hours with a stop. Daylight driving along I-17, 85 mph typical. 95 mph for a while. Max speed hit was about 120 on a downhill with guardrails preventing enforcement. For 250mi cruising at around 85, mpg was 28.0. 2.0T 5 speed manual.

Return trip was slower, with better mileage - about 29.5, a midnight return to Phoenix. Night Panel is great; every car should have it. It allows you to see well without using your brights (which on many Interstates, you can't without blinding the opposing traffic).

Overall the car did great. Around 100 MPH it was totally normal and relaxed (spend some 10s of miles beside perverted pickup/Pontiac drivers doing 100). Up around 120, you can tell teh Saab is no battleship. The momentum was slightly overwhelming for the dampers; the car is not made to cruise that fast IMO, although it is willing to do it. That's more BMW / Benz territory (I would not include Audi in that).
