SAAB 9-3 2004-2005 Reliability Concerns and questions??

I am looking at a Saab 9-3 linear 2004-2005. I am most interested in the safety of the car and European sytle. It is for my wife and kids. I have been to Sweden several times and that of course is one of the three main cars you see. The other being Mercdes and Volvo. Those are mostly diesel though. My question comes from the reliability stand point. I notice you can get a 2005 with 30K or less for 15,000 dollars now. It appears the prices are really cheap due to people having problems with them. A UK reliability site ranks the Saab at 42 warranty claims per 100 vehicles. (The accord by Honda has 2 per 100.) Some of the concerns have been the cars shutting off while driving down the road. Does the board feel the quality of these Saabs are near what the Swedish cars used to be or do you all feel this isn't as bad as it seems. To me is sounds gloom and doom for Saab since GM is modeling them into another copied brand....
thanks for the info...
