I have been contemplating replacing my '04 Aero (very loaded, 12k miles, 6-sp manual) with a '06 Aero SC (looking for a loaded 6-sp manual). Test drove a new 6-sp Aero sedan (didn't have any SC w/ the manual at the dealer) and have to say I was a bit disappointed. As others have mentioned, it just didn't feel as lively as my '04. I know it was faster, but it just didn't feel like it; it felt a lot like my wife's BMW with very smooth and linear power delivery. It's clearly more refined but it doesn't have the fun, slingshot effect that the previous generations have.

So I'm wondering if it's worth the additional $13k more or so to get a new SC. I've made a quick pro and con list and am hoping others can add any additional comments I may be missing.

Pros:
- Lots more versatility – between the dog, soon-to-be child (hopefully), and various home improvement projects I can definitely see the benefit of having the SC. I do have other alternatives but the SC wound make things much more convenient.
- More refined ride/suspension. I'm not sure if it's due to the slight additional weight or different tires (or a combination of both) but it just rode much better than my '04.
- Current incentives and GM supplier discount (assuming they can be combined) make it more attractive.
- The gearbox felt much better than my current car.
- Has the old school interior that I prefer but I could live w/ the new one if I waited.

Cons:
- Didn't feel as "fun to drive".
- Decrease in fuel efficiency.
- No Bluetooth, not sure if the digital Onstar will be available so I can get the Verizon phone in the car.
- Not keen on the painted door handles, new Aero wheels, and would have to get the windows tinted.
- Throws off the 5 year financial plan by a few months.

I've read a lot of previous posts raving about the '06 Aero so I'm wondering if there is anything I'm not considering. Admittedly, I'm a bit nervous to pull the trigger and get a new one just because I don't really need one; it would be convenient, not necessary. Thoughts?
