That brings up the other cars I've been looking at, namely the Audi A3. I've driven my mom's 2.0T and the thing is a rocket. I'm wondering how the 9-3 2.0T compares, I'll have to go test-drive it. It's got 10 more horsepower than the Audi, but the Audi has direct injection. Despite the size difference, they are about the same weight. The only thing I don't like about the Audi is the 6 speed is really hard to drive smoothly. Although I crave performance, I don't want to give my passengers whiplash shifting from first gear. The A4 is nice but a bit too pricey for the new body and is not all that performance oriented (reads "boring"). Anyway, this isn't an Audi board!
So the buttons peel in the 9-3? Is this a pretty widespread problem? Any particular years? I guess I can live with it, at least it's not a major mechanical defect or PITA like the idler pulley on the NG900.
Anything else I should be worried about/watch out for?
