Hello All

Had my 93 Vector Sport for 4 weeks now..i'm up to 2700 miles!

I have some good and bad feedback! but i want to end on good stuff cos I still like it!

First the bad stuff, this is comparing it to my old 93.

The SID display now just shows "Telephone" when I get or make a call, even the clock is not displayed, its really annoying not to have the time whenI'm talking to a customer!

Staying with SID/radio/CD, the date is also not shown anymore, most annoying though is the steering wheel buttons won't switch cd's and won't switch between CD/Radio etc.

Seat: I'm certain the seat is different, I cannot get it set right BUT I have to bear in mind I had my last 93 for 5 years and 176000 miles so I of course I the seat "moulded" to my shape!!

Seatbelt: The seatbelt does not slide high enough anymore. I'm quite tall which means the slider adjustment on the door pillar is now too low and the belt is always pulling on my shoulder.

Gear change: When the dealer gave me a car to test drive it was an auto, in fact they all were....now I think I know why..the manual gear change is appauling...it reminds me of my fist car...a Mini!! Also I can feel a lot of slack in the drive train when I'm in stop/start traffic, it thumps and if I accelerate I can feel a vibration through the footwell....I'm taking it back for a check soon.

Anyone else had gearbox problems?

OK, things I like!

Its economical...its the 150 bhp Tdi...drove 400 mile last thursday, reset SID and got 54 mpg at 80 mph average. Sorry my American friends I know the Tdi persona non grata...still it may change!

The handling is superb...I can play with the stability control and get 4 wheel drifts on wet roads...naughty I know but good fun!

The steering is much better...a bit too light but ok.

Thats it for now...I will post an update on the gearbox.

Any feedback welcome.

Safe driving everyone.

Mark
