Hello everyone!
Great forum here - I may join later. Anyways, I just have to shout out that I'm the proud owner of a brand new 2006 9-3 Aero SportCombi. I purchased it through eBay and have to give my props out to Kunkle Motors in Dallas,PA - these guys totally rock!
The car is a joy to drive and, naturally, I've got some Qs about it:
- Door Locks in the car door. I depress the LOCK button while the door is open (ie: as if I'm leaving the car) but the doors don't lock, only the remote seems to lock the door. Is this some kind of normal "don't leave your keys in the car" feature? (The UNLOCK button works just fine).
- iPod. I know, I know - use the AUX. Not a problem. My question is about the center console. To the left of the AUX-in and power adapter, there is a gray rectangle covered by a little rubber plug. If I remove the plug, can I fish an iPod cable down and have it come out the bottom of the passenger-side of the console? My goal is to get a ProClipUSA console mount and mount my TomTom+iPod interface there. This way, I can use the TomTom's larger screen and touch controls to control my iPod while driving and then neatly put the TT device away when not in the car.
- Telephone. I know, I know - not in the USA. My question is -- are the wirings, electronics, etc.. in the car or have they been removed and only the speaker grill, microphone input, and various buttons remain? (I'm curious about putting in a European SIM card and seeing what happens . . . in which case, where do I insert the SIM card?)
- Child booster seats. Anything "fancy" that makes it look like it's part of the car for my 5 year old?
- Bicycle(s) - what's the best way to carry one or two bicycles? I have a Bones system from my previous car. Should I get the roof rack instead?
- Favorite Accessories - what's up, what's cool, what's just a scam?
Thanks & Cheers,
Christopher.
