A couple of things about supplier to know. Used to be a better deal. You also pay sales tax on rebates that otherwise might be deducted from the selling price as dealer allowances before sales tax. On the other hand the dealer is required to give you all the rebates and allowance although they could overlook something like loyalty, but it doesn't do them any good as they all become customer allowances or rebates.
The general attitude at GM dealers for employee deals, that spills over to supplier deals, is to steal the customers trade. After all you're already getting an insider deal. And the car business in general has sales managers telling salesfolks trades are $1,000 back of what the used car manager actually appraised them for, then they run back out a $500 under, if they don't try and screw you a couple of times first it isn't any fun......
As for your Accord, a decent automatic (sticks are only just OK) '00 Accord is gold in the used car market, great mechandise. Popular car, big resale value. Almost any corner used car lot will eat that car up, too old for a new car dealer, and maybe CarMax too, but used car dealers will cut you a check and give you a ride home. Mostly used car dealers have to pay buy fees to wholesales, auctions fees and transportation from the auction and things like that and you're bring them good merchandise, no fees.
