HID system has self leveling feature every time you start the car - you can see the headlights move. I would not expect HID on a 03 linear. The bulbs are H7 single filament (there are separate bulbs for low beam and high beam). Installation is pretty easy and the manual has a good description of how to do it. Passenger side is easy - remove rubber cap, take out old bulb, plug new one in (without touching the glass) and reinstall rubber cap. Driver side is a little bit trickier but if you follow instructions and remove battery cover, pull out windshield washer refill tube (I had to pull it quite hard to get it out) you will have easy access to the bulb.
On the brakes, I used Green Stuff with factory rotors (they still had some life left in them) when I changed the first set after 40K on my 03 Vector but not sure I will use the same pads as they are as dusty as my OEM parts. Front and rear brakes were worn out about the same so I did both of them. Front brakes are easy to do and just require a C-clamp to retract break cylinder. Rear brakes require a tool to push the cylinder back but I ended up using needle nose pliers (pretty painful) as the tool I bought was not compatible. Do a search on this board and you will find references to correct tool.
