Reference: Recall campaign 15018 (expansion) - Fuel Pump Retaining Tabs
2000 – 2003 9-3 CV; 2002 9-3 3/5d; 2001-2005 9-5 4/5d
Saab Automobile AB has announced the expansion of safety recall campaign 15018. 2000-2003 model year 9-3 CV, 2001-2002 model year Saab 9-3 3 and 5 door models, and 2001-2005 model year 9-5 4 and 5 door models have been added for the installation of a bracket to secure the fuel lines to the fuel pump
Some of these vehicles may have damaged fuel pump retaining tabs that hold the fuel lines to the fuel pump. Over time, this condition could cause the fuel lines to loosen from the pump, resulting in fuel leakage. If a sufficient amount of fuel were to leak out and if an ignition source were present, a vehicle fire could occur.
Parts sufficient to cover 25% of each dealers' sold vehicles will be automatically shipped to dealers, additional parts must be ordered through normal parts order process.
For any vehicle within the VIN range stated above, first check the "Warranty Inquiry By Chassis" screen on IRIS to determine whether the recall has been completed.
Notification letters will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles beginning on June 13, 2007.
