The '06 stereo is a bad design (IMHO) and sounds thin regardless of base or premium version. The '07 stereo has more intutive controls and sounds much better (not incredible...but certainly an improvement over the pre '07 system). Since you can't replace the stereo without major effort and potential disruption to the cars electronics...all but the most adventurous are basically stuck w/ the factory unit. The BOSE option in the '07 and above is basically a rip off at $900 (I would say that about ANY $900 car stereo), but it does sound particularly good compared to all the other options.
Also, I have an '07 (so I'm biased) and it appears to have the trunk "micro switch" (if the other poster is referring to a rubber covered button that unlatches the trunk...that I think only works if the car is unlocked...I've got that, as well as a button near the front seat door armrest...but since I normally open the trunk when the car is locked, I'm used to using the key anyway).
'07 powertrain warranty extended from 50k to 100k (worth a consideration)
Dash: its really up to what your preference is...I enjoy the look and functionality/ergonomics of the '07 dash over the '06. Some like it....some don't. Having previously owned an '87 900T, I find the '07 dash to be a bit more of a link to the past than the pre '07 style. When I first test drove an '06 I could not get the radio going while I was driving...had to pull over and scroll through some menus to figure it out...so that gave me a negative impression from the get go.
