I've been driving one more year than you ;)
I don't think one can disagree with someone else's personal experiences.
Again, my input was based on my experience. If you say Saab clutches last 200k miles based on your experience, then I don't disagree with that!
Most of my time driving standard shift cars (Volkswagon, Saab 93/96/99, Opels, Chevys, Plymouth, Dodge, plus assorted military vehicles for 24 years) was in Winter climates in North America and Europe with many hills/ mountains and where I shifted down a lot.
