I drove the new Accord a few months back. On the same day I also drove an '06 9-5 and an '06 BMX 330 w AWD. I thought the BMW and the 9-5 were pretty close in terms of plasticiness. To my surprised I thought the Accord had the best interior materials. I drove both the 4 and the V6. The 4 was a bit "thrashy" sounding when pushed hard but performance was pretty good (190 plus horse as I recall). The V6 was pretty close in terms of performance to the Saab and BMW, but you'd need to "line 'em up" to tell for sure. I suspect the BMW would win but it would be close for the other two. I've read the other posts on this and would say most of it used to be true. The Japanese have really ramped it up recently in terms of interior fit, finish and feel. My son has a new Acura MDX and it's like an Audi inside. I'd be a bit hesitant to buy the V6 Accord for a long term vehicle, it's has an extremely complex engine that I suspect could have issues at some point. The 4 is nice enough as long as you don't push it hard. I thought it drove pretty well, much better than they used to even a few years ago. I guess I just like 4 cylinder engines and Saab makes a gem the loves to be pushed hard. I suppose ultimately I'm just a Saab guy.
