Priority? Performance versus mileage?

I've owned the previous generation 9-3 vert w/ a 4 and a current generation sedan w/ a four (both auto's) and now have a AERO vert w/ the 2.8.
OK lets do some math: at 12,000 miles per year and my estimate that you will get about 4 MPG better w/ the 4cyl something like 24 mpg overall versus 20 (close to my figures for my old 4 sedan and new V6 vert)...Then you would use about 100 more gallons w/ the 6 verses the 4. At current prices of $2.75 for premium (around here) then you would spend $275 more per year.
So what else does the AERO package get you? Better handling, nicer looking seats, better stereo in wattage (at least for 08's) and some minor options that are included w/ the AERO package.
The performance difference isn't as dramatic as I hoped--the V6 cuts the max torque in first and second gears so 0-60mph times aren't impressive (IMO). However, the 35-120MPH rush is strong!
The four does pretty darn good in the sedan and the vert's extra weight would slow it down some...Still I think it would be a good choice.
If I had to pick I would look at all the other options and put a priority on them then factor in the gas mileage and performance trade off.
Bottom line for me is since I normally cruise around and 15-20% percent of the time drive hard, that the around town mileage of the V6 is at such a deficit compared to the 4 that I wouldn't pay much extra for it.
Let us know what you get-- the vert are SWEET in any flavor.
