Same concerns Posted by galaynta [Email] (#3118) [Profile/Gallery] (more from galaynta) on Sun, 19 Jul 2009 04:47:47 In Reply to: Buy out my '06 aero convertible (20th aniv.ed) lease?, earl epstein, Thu, 16 Jul 2009 10:54:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought my 2006 Aero 6 months ago with 25k miles and balance of factory warranty until Nov 2009. So far, have experienced overflow tank problem and had steering rack replaced, plus a bunch of minor things like dashboard buttons and peeling badges replaced.
The service manager at my dealer advised me to bring the car in about a month before the warranty expires and they will go through the car thoroughly. He also recommended a specific third party warranty whose name I can't remember right now. He pointed out that convertible top pieces, as an example, were very expensive to replace.
I'm a little concerned about how well the V6 engine will fare over the long haul. Not the engine itself, but all the other bits and pieces that were originally designed for a 4 cylinder engine. Maybe the steering rack problem has me paranoid!
Also worried about what the Florida sun is doing to all the plastic and rubber.
